Location: Piraeus is just 12 kms to the south of Athens city center and is one of the most important commercial and passenger ports in Europe, servicing passenger traffic to more than 200 inhabited islands in Greece, whose main connection with the mainland is via the Piraeus port. Accessibility: Piraeus now has three new metro stations and now is well connected to the center of Athens and the rest of the suburbs, the route to the airport by metro is only one hour. Moreover Piraeus also has a tram, a railway station, and several bus lines. Finally, it is the main transfer station for passenger, commercial and cruise ships.
