The most beautiful walk you can take in Ortigia, at dawn, in the silence, is the one that takes you along the winding promenade of the Lungomare di Levante. An enchanting area where you can view the old houses lit up with warm lights, almost like a nativity scene, that go out a moment after dawn. At that exact moment, the gaze is almost lost towards the furthest point, where the sea meets the sky, but the imagination and fantasy manage to go further. Walking through the silence, cuddled by the sea breeze and the waves, one arrives at the most extreme point of Ortigia, the Castello Maniace. In every corner, in every street, many historical reminders tell us of how many changes Ortigia has undergone over time, and it is truly magical to look at the different types of buildings and notice how beautiful they are to look at, arranged side by side.
