Discover the Magic of Winterlights: Luxembourg’s Christmas Market 2025

From 21 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, the Winterlight-Christmas Market transforms the capital into a magical winter wonderland, featuring Christmas markets, sparkling light displays, and attractions for visitors of all ages.

A Festival Spread Across the City

Instead of one central market, Winterlights offers a beautifully experience across several locations, including:

• Lëtzebuerger Chrëschtmaart (Place d’Armes)

• Wantermaart (Place de la Constitution)

• Niklosmaart (Place de Paris)

• Wanterpark with Ice Rink (Kinnekswiss)

• Sapin Royal (Place Émile Hamilius – new in 2025)

Highlights & New Attractions for 2025

The Winterkids Village (Place Guillaume II) will delight families with its new giant slide, a flying reindeer carousel, the charming Advent calendar house, and a full program of workshops, shows, concerts, and storytelling.

At the Niklosmaart, visitors can enjoy a 22-meter-tall Christmas tree, delicious festive food, more than 80 concerts, and meet Kleeschen and Houseker, figures from Luxembourgish tradition.

The Wantermaart brings even more winter atmosphere with a 32-meter Ferris wheel, funfair rides, a glowing Golden Fir Tree, and around 40 wooden chalets.

A brand new addition in 2025 is the Sapin Royal, an impressive Christmas tree surrounded by a miniature train running high above the square.

In the Wanterpark, an outdoor ice rink invites skaters to glide under fairy lights, framed by a giant illuminated heart and cozy little chalets.

A City Illuminated

From 21 November 2025 to 11 January 2026, streets, squares, and buildings across the city center shine with festive installations – from “I LXB” to giant Christmas trees and magical animal-shaped light figures.

Practical Tips

On selected Sunday shopping days, many shops remain open for holiday browsing. The city recommends using public transport and park-and-ride facilities for easier access. All Winterlights locations are fully accessible for people with reduced mobility.
