Roccastrada is a charming Tuscan village, perched on a trachytic rock base, rising about 475 meters above sea level. The ancient core still retains its medieval appearance, with cobblestone alleys, panoramic views, and picturesque characteristic corners. Towards the slopes, around the state road, a modern center has developed with residential buildings, commercial spaces, and public services. Here you find the town hall, the library, the Teatro dei Concordi, the “Massimo” cinema, and the Parco del Chiusone. The municipal territory is vast and varied: part in the Maremma plain and part in the Metalliferous Hills. There are alternating oak woods, chestnut trees, and Turkey oaks, vineyards, agricultural lands, and pastures, along with minor watercourses like the Farma stream, which crosses the valley and is one of the most precious environmental points of the territory. Roccastrada and its hamlets (Roccatederighi, Sassofortino, Sticciano, Torniella, Montemassi, Piloni) hold medieval testimonies, castles, and abbey ruins, as well as memories of the mining activity that characterized the area in the past. The location offers splendid views over the Grosseto Maremma, the Sienese hills, and Monte Amiata, giving the village the reputation of a "panoramic balcony" over Tuscany. The aspects that make the area particularly appealing for a property include: privacy and tranquility in an authentic rural setting dominant panorama and historic village atmosphere richness of landscape, historical, and naturalistic elements proximity to essential services and main connections to Grosseto, Siena, and the coast Main distances: Grosseto: approx. 36 km – 30/35 minutes by car Massa Marittima: approx. 23 km Gavorrano: approx. 23 km Siena: approx. 37 km Sea (Grosseto coast): 30/40 km – 30/50 minutes by car Rome: approx. 160/170 km
