Hilden is located around 15 kilometres southeast of the state capital Düsseldorf and, with approximately 58,000 inhabitants, is one of the most significant cities in the Mettmann district. The city combines urban living with pleasantly green surroundings and a high quality of life.
The town centre, with its vibrant pedestrian zone, is quickly accessible and offers a diverse selection of retailers and service providers, as well as excellent local amenities for everyday needs. The regular weekly market complements the offering with fresh regional produce and underscores the charming, established character of the city centre.
Hilden also boasts a varied culinary scene: numerous cafés, restaurants and smaller establishments invite visitors to linger and create a lively, almost Mediterranean atmosphere, particularly during the summer months. For recreation and leisure, the nearby Stadtwald forest, Hildener Heide heathland and Unterbacher See lake offer a wide range of opportunities to enjoy nature.
The A46, A3 and A59 motorways provide fast connections to the surrounding cities of Düsseldorf, Cologne and Wuppertal, as well as the Ruhr region. Düsseldorf Airport can be reached in around 20 minutes, as can Düsseldorf city centre with its renowned Königsallee boulevard—both by car and conveniently by suburban railway.
