For Sale - Agricultural land in Chamarel

Chamarel, straddling Mauritius’s Rivière Noire and Savanne districts, is a tranquil hilltop village perched roughly 6 km inland at an elevation of about 260 meters. Known for its quiet, mist-kissed ambiance and a population of under 800, it offers a remarkable cluster of natural and cultural treasures. At its core lies the surreal Seven Coloured Earth, a patchwork of lava-derived dunes in seven vivid hues, complemented by panoramic boardwalks and an on-site tortoise park. Nearby, the dramatic Chamarel Waterfall plunges into a lush gorge, while the internationally recognized Ebony Forest Reserve protects rare endemic flora and fauna with immersive canopy trails. Culture abounds too: the elegant Rhumerie de Chamarel invites visitors with distillery tours, tastings, and fine dining; the quirky Curious Corner delights with optical illusions and interactive exhibits. Add to that the historic Saint Anne’s Church, known for its August pilgrimage, and local Creole dining at spots like Le Palais de Barbizon—and Chamarel emerges as a serene, enriching destination—a sublime blend of nature, culture, and discovery.
