Portocolom has preserved much of its original flair and charm. Everything here is a bit quieter and more idyllic, almost as if time has stood still. It is home to Mallorca's largest natural harbor, with colorful boat houses, the lighthouse, and boats adding to the picturesque look of the place. Portocolom is a traditional holiday resort on Mallorca, offering a wide selection of hotels, bars, and restaurants. The old town by the harbor invites you to take a leisurely stroll through its quaint streets, where you can also find some very good restaurants. The lively village of Santanyí (about 18 km south) with its colorful weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays also offers cozy restaurants, bars, and boutiques; you can reach Santanyí in about a 20-minute drive. The beaches of Porto Colom are not directly in the town center, but they are easily accessible from there. The most popular beaches include Cala Marcal and the stunning S'Arenal beach on the Sa Punta peninsula. If you prefer a quieter and more secluded spot, you should visit the mini-bay S’Algar on the peninsula. This somewhat hidden bay is surrounded by rocky coasts and is a true oasis of tranquility, rarely found elsewhere. The exclusive golf club 'Vall d’Or' is about a 10-minute drive away.
