Find Your Inner Peace: A Guide to the Best Yoga Retreats in Mallorca

Tracing back over 5000 years to Northern India, yoga has been practised for millennia and is now an integral part of contemporary life for many. The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit, “yuj”, which means “to connect”, which points to why this type of exercise is often considered the key to spiritual, mental and physical health. Mallorca, an island with a bohemian spirit, is home to many yoga centres and retreats, in Palma and around the island. Here are some of our favourites. We hope you enjoy them. Namaste.

1. Recharge and Renew: Top Yoga Studios in and around Palma

In the neighbourhood of Santa Catalina in the west of the city, Earth Yoga is an established centre offering yin, ashtanga and vinyasa yoga classes to all levels, from beginners to advanced yogis. Retreats and teacher training courses are also available at this vibrant place that opened in 2009 before unveiling a second studio in Puerto Portals in 2013.

Sadhana Works Healthy Hub is tucked away on the pretty street of Carrer de Sant Feliu in central Palma, where their “school of consciousness” encourages self-exploration and social change. Yoga classes include everything from Kundalini and Power Yoga to meditation. Dance classes are also on offer.

    2. Connect with Nature: The Most Beautiful Yoga Retreats in Mallorca

Travelling north to Pollenca and the foothills of the Tramuntana, La Serranía is a serene retreat for those seeking inner peace surrounded by olive trees, greenery and pure nature. The property has 10 double bedrooms, a swimming pool and a yoga studio with mountain views where you can enjoy multiple yoga and pranayama classes daily. Unwind with a massage and nourish your body with the menu of organic dishes combining fresh Mediterranean with Middle Eastern and Asian influences.

Tramuntana Flow in Sa Cabaneta, a small village 10 minutes from Palma, has a spacious indoor yoga shala and an open-air yoga terrace with views of the valley and the mountains. There is also a swimming pool alongside garden and picnic areas, where you can enjoy the organic menu or ayurvedic meals cooked by local chefs.

3. Discover Your Balance: Yoga Retreats with a Focus on Wellness

Bodhana Wellness Center can be found in Puerto Portals in the southwest of the island. Enjoy invigorating vinyasa yoga classes, peaceful meditation and massages or one of their wellness, meditation and yoga retreats, either in Mallorca or Ibiza. Bodhana can also organise a wellness day at your home, on your boat or wherever you please.

In the rural heart of Mallorca, The Body Camp is a holistic retreat promising full immersion and transformation, via a range of exercises from yoga and workouts to treasure hunts on the private 25-acre estate. The idea is to get fit, gain more self-confidence and have fun doing it. Plus, a plant-based menu is served throughout the day, every day.

4. Embrace the Island Lifestyle: Experience the Best Yoga Holidays with a Mediterranean Twist

Cal Reiet is a boutique holistic retreat set just outside the idyllic town of Santanyí in the east of Mallorca, an elegant place combining the beauty of a historical building with the tranquility of yoga, meditation and mindfulness. Retreats are led by renowned international teachers and wellness experts that focus on physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing. Expect to be transformed during your stay.

As its name suggests, Escapada Health is the perfect place to escape, recharge and be pampered. This retreat focuses on health and wellness based on Chinese medicine principles in a dreamy Mediterranean location: a historic farmhouse in the village of Capdepera, also in the southwest. Each guest receives lifestyle and nutritional advice and personalised treatments, such as acupuncture, massages and a full-board vegetarian menu. And, of course, there are daily yoga classes, sunrise meditations and coastal walks. And a sauna and swimming pool. Say hello to the new you.
