Along the traditionally rich Vennhauser Allee, a colony of villas owned by wealthy Düsseldorf citizens emerged around 1900, transforming the once rural Vennhausen into a sought-after residential area. During this time, Villa Mönnich was also built – a representative structure from 1907 that still reflects the distinctive character of this Gründerzeit villa settlement. The house is located on a plot of approximately 1,828 m² and was constructed in a solid manner. After a varied history of use – from a residence to a photo studio to an office building – the current owners acquired the villa in 1997 and had it technically and aesthetically completely renovated between 1997 and 1999. New ceilings, walls, floors, heating and sanitary installations, as well as a modern electrical system with EIB control, video intercom systems, and security features brought the historic building up to date. Exclusive materials such as natural stone, fixtures by Dornbracht, ceramics by Luigi Colani, and original Gründerzeit chandeliers combine historical elegance with modern comfort. The basement was developed for residential use, and the attic was designed with built-in furniture and new roof windows. Additionally, usable living space was created in the attic and in an extension adjacent to the garage, offering diverse possibilities for use – such as a work, guest, or hobby area. A high-quality kitchen with appliances from Küppersbusch, Gaggenau, and Miele complements the overall high-quality appearance. Upon completion of the renovation, the villa boasts around 379 m² of living and usable space, two bathrooms, two guest toilets, as well as generous garage spaces. An already approved plan for expansion with a larger kitchen, pool, sauna, fitness room, and additional terrace offers further potential. In 2015, the house received a new roof with above-rafter insulation, new triple-glazed windows, a revised facade, and stylish exterior lighting. A roof-integrated photovoltaic system from Braas with battery storage has since provided sustainable energy supply. The lovingly landscaped garden with around 130 m² of terrace space, pool, pool house, fountain, and Mediterranean planting offers a harmonious environment that combines tranquility and privacy. Automatic irrigation, garden lighting, and a separate garden house complete the ensemble. Villa Mönnich combines historical charm, high-quality craftsmanship, and modern building technology into an extraordinary residential gem. It is a piece of Düsseldorf's architectural history – and a stylish home for lovers of classic elegance and refined living comfort.
