In progressJesús Pobre is a small village situated on the southwest slope of the Montgó natural park. Jesús Pobre is 15 minutes from Denia and Javea and the easiest way to get there is to follow the signs to the main road that ends in Javea. Apart from being a village with a natural charm due to its location, beauty, history and people, it is one of the best examples of neighbourhood mobilisation that has revived its human and cultural heritage through, amongst other initiatives, a market that takes place every Sunday of the year. You can still walk around the area around Jesús Pobre through some of the original holm oak woods that once must have been the usual landscape of the area. These mature forests have given way to more humanised landscapes of palm trees, pine groves and even ancient olive trees. The predominant cultivation of vines and the few almond and orange trees that still exist make up a changing landscape depending on the season of the year. Dominating this landscape rises the Montgó. From here you can see Ibiza and Formentera on clear days. The riuraus are typical rural constructions of the region that were used to dry grapes and in the case of Jesús Pobre they have been converted into a place to organise a local market every Sunday since 2013 where the locals sell local products.
