Berkum is the largest district of the municipality of Wachtberg in the Rhein-Sieg district and the administrative seat of the municipality. The town is located south of Bonn in the scenic Drachenfelser Ländchen region. The surrounding area is characterized by rolling hills, agricultural land, and small wooded areas.
