Impressive Sacre Coeur chapel spaces, gourmet delicacies, pleasant jazz music and many interesting personalities. Take a look at the celebration of the 10th anniversary of our activity on the Czech market. The event was made even more exciting by the participation of celebrity friends such as etiquette specialist Ladislav Špaček and the famous photographer Robert Vano.
To help us celebrate our 10th anniversary on the 7th of November, we greeted almost 500 guests at the beautiful spaces of the Sacre Coeur chapel. In addition to the generous gourmet catering, we had prepared an exceptional program. First, Engel & Völkers director, Andreas von Schlik, himself took the podium to thank our guests, introduce our Prague team, and provided interesting information about the market in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Etiquette is always important to our agents. Even in terms of appearance, and for this special event they went out of their way to come in matching attire; the men wore dark suits with white shirts, a red tie, and a rose in their breast pocket. The ladies chose the most timeless classic - the little black dress, with a red ribbon around their wrist. If, however, in the future there was ever any doubt as to appropriate wear for a particular occasion, they need not fear: our celebration was also the occasion of the launch of etiquette specialist Ladislav Spacek’s book „Etiketa obchodníka“ (Business Etiquette).
The book cover features the director of our company with the author Ladislav Špaček himself. The photo was taken by world renowned photographer Robert Vano right in our company’s offices. Our celebration was an opportunity for all three men to share the stage.
Each guest could take a copy of the book directly home with them, and had the opportunity to have the book personally signed by the author.
Then it was time to mingle and enjoy the music of the Jazzika band; if the band leader was familiar, you probably remember him from Ondrej Havelka’s band Melody Makers, of which he was a member for 8 years.
We asked our guests in lieu of bringing any gifts for our birthday, to rather donate to the charitable foundation Act For Others, which helps those in need. We believe that everyone that can, should indeed help. Collected funds will go for example to disadvantaged children or the homeless.
We took the most special care to provide the best of catering. In addition to the wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and cocktails, our guests were able to enjoy many specialties for which we ourselves have a particular weakness. Cold appetizers included delicacies such as tiger shrimp in tempura batter, and salmon tartar on herb toast. Many food enthusiasts were also delighted by our warm selections, which included home-made ricotta-stuffed tortellini in wild mushroom sauce, and meatballs with spicy salsa and coriander. Dessert included créme brulée, and whipped orange mascarpone.
We were lucky with the autumn weather, which while on the cool side, was dry and pleasant. This allowed guests to move between the stunning chapel interior and our outdoor tent, which, while lacking the dramatic lighting effects decorating the indoor walls and ceiling vault, on the other hand offered a rich selection of specialties from the bar.
Our last guests left around 10:30, and each and every one got a gift for the road. In return, we were rewarded with many smiles and meaningful advice, both work-related and personal.
Thanks to all who were there to help us celebrate this significant anniversary. We look forward to meeting again at one of our future events, or at our Prague 5 offices.
