There is no question about the excellent quality of life experienced in the city of Barcelona. It is one of the favourite destinations for many people from all over the world, who see the city as the ideal place to stay with the whole family.
If this is a common reality, the advantages are even greater if we take into account the specific characteristics of Barcelona's Zona Alta. Places like Sarrià, Sant Gervasi and Pedralbes have become familiar havens for their tranquility and comfort, green areas and excellent educational institutions of international character that enjoy a great prestige. Although there are many schools that are highly accredited, we will just mention some of them, as shown below.
The American School of Barcelona (ASB) offers its students an American diploma and the ability to access universities around the world. The ASB annually exceeds the world average IBDP and welcomes students from 51 different nationalities.
In the German School (Deutsche Schule) the education is accredited by the German system and empowers its students to attend the universities of that country.
Located in Pedralbes, Kensington School includes in its teachings the current curriculum in the United Kingdom. Most of its teachers have completed their previous training and experience in that country.
More than 2500 students of all levels, from pre-school to high school, receive classes in the French Lycee de Barcelona (Lycée Français), adapting their curriculum to France's National System of Education.
The multicultural environment is the day-to-day life of Benjamin Franklin (Benjamin Franklin International School), which welcomes nearly 600 students. The purpose of the centre is to prepare the students for admission to top universities around the world, with a special focus on the Americans.
Also in Pedralbes is the School of San Pablo (St. Paul's School), founded in 1968, offering its services from kindergarten through to high school. English is the predominant language since preschool.
