Families are at the very heart of Engel & Völkers and supporting local community projects is an integral part of the company’s philosophy. It is therefore with great pleasure that the 18 Engel & Völkers property shops in Mallorca have come together to donate computers and a kitchen for the first Aldeas Children’s Help Centre in Palma’s Son Gotleu district.
Over the past few months, Engel & Völkers has established a strong working relationship with the centre’s manager, Encarnación Jiménez, who is heading up the first project of its kind in Palma that will provide day care for some 70 children from ages 5 – 14 years.
Recognising the importance of its work within the community, the Aldeas Children’s Help Centre has received an investment of more than half a million euros from the Princess of Asturias de la Concordia Foundation together with support from Palma’s Town Hall and other donors in the Balearic Islands.
According to Pedro Puig, director of Aldeas, there are an estimated 300,000 children in Spain at risk from losing parental care. The Aldeas Programme is preventative to support families and provide care for children most in need.
Engel & Völkers welcomes this opportunity to be involved in the Aldeas Children’s Help Centre project as part of an ongoing programme to support local community projects and to put a smile on some children’s faces this festive season.
