Modernist Jewel of Reus - Casa Serra Building

Casa Serra is a modernist building built between 1924-1930 by the architect Joan Rubió i Bellver, a disciple and direct collaborator of Gaudí. Listed as an asset of cultural interest, it is located in the Raval de Santa Anna, in the historic and commercial center of Reus. An enviable location close to all public, commercial and restaurant services, with private car parks and bus and taxi stops. It consists of a ground floor and three upper floors with a total area of more than 2,300 square meters. The facade, built in stone, is symmetrical in composition and has three vertical axes and a gallery in the center with windows and balconies that have marble columns and stone capitals. Access to the main floor is through a noble staircase and has an elevator and a service staircase. On the main floor, the dining room illuminated by a large tribune that opens onto a large skylight that overlooks an interior patio and the spacious and bright kitchen with glazed ceramic walls stands out. The rooms retain the original pavement and, in general, on all floors, there are large rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. The original carved wood details are admirable as well as the fresco paintings on the ceiling by Tomàs Bergadà. An excellent work of iconic architectural art and steeped in history.
