What characteristics should the perfect estate agent have?

Working as an estate agent means becoming a versatile person who must serve two types of clients: sellers and buyers. Interestingly, each type of client has different expectations and demands, but in the long run, your efforts will be rewarding. In this article, we will explain the perfect characteristics an estate agent should have plus what the sellers look for in an agent?

Intensity and Effort

The person who sells their property wants exclusivity for various reasons and wants the agent to work intensively to achieve their objective. Many hours are required to be spent on marketing the property in order to find the right buyer.

Information and Clarity

The perfect agent clearly states everything he can do from the first moment he meets his client. In addition, you must report all the steps you are taking to complete the sale of the property in question (viewings received, where the property for sale has been advertised, etc). Aside from providing the client with all the relevant information, you must also help them at all times and answer any questions they may have.

Trust, Experience and Continued Search

The agent represents the seller and is the one who has to sell the property as if it were his own. It is very important to convey professionalism, knowledge about the sector and above all transparency at the time of explaining the conditions of the sale. In addition, you must also be a person who conforms to the wishes of the buyer and never stop looking for the perfect home for him.

Monitoring the Entire Process

While the objective of an estate agent is to sell a property, we must not forget that the selling process involves several steps that must be taken by the client. After having chosen the right property, the most complicated part begins: the financing. If the agent ignores this step, he will come across as though he was only interested in his commission. Would it not make more sense to try to guide the client from the start until he finishes signing all the necessary documents?

Two Sides of the Same Coin

As indicated at the beginning, the estate agent must always be on a neutral side and attend to the requests made by buyers and sellers. Both, as we have said, request exactly the same things: complete dedication and professionalism. Buyers and sellers always look for these attributes in agents before they choose to proceed with them. These professionals have to be adaptable and professional in order to portray themselves as helpful rather than be seen as someone who just wants to make money. With this new trend, the three groups of people (the agent, the buyer, and the seller) involved in the process benefit while they manage to streamline the real estate market in a more natural and appropriate way.
