The Nice-Cannes marathon is becoming international

On November 4th was the 11th Nice-Cannes Marathon. Second marathon in France after the Paris one, this event became an institution for the running lovers. After the departure on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, the route is full of wonderful views and landscapes along the sea, across famous places such as Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet and Antibes and finally ends in the Cannes croisette.

3 different race formats are available : individual, team relay with 6 people and half marathon (for 2 people).

This year, a lot of runners came from abroad. « We have more foreigners than the past years, thanks to our international communication. This marathon is more than a race, it is a global event. The French Riviera remains a dream destination. ».

Indeed, the organisers of the race tend to promote more and more the race on an international level. A strong worldwide awareness is their objective for the next years. Moreover, this operation is part of the project to support the application of the Mediterranean Alps in the worldwide UNESCO heritage.

The 2018 edition of the race has been very successful and welcomed 11000 runners, more than 50000 spectators and received the support of 1600 volunteers during the weekend.

19th edition of the charity run No Finish Line in Monaco

This year again, the association Children & Future organises its famous charity run to gather funds to help poor children around the world. With a strong reputation in Monaco, this event exists since 1999 and is managed by the Prince Albert.

The objective is simple : the race is on a 1400m route and is open 24/7 during 8 days. Everybody can participate and several options are available. Alone or in a team, it is possible to chose the 24h formula or 8 days for the best runners. Moreover, everybody is free to walk or run, at their convenience.

For every kilometer done, the association  Children & Future gathers 1€ to finance several construction projects for schools and other infrastructures to help children who need it. Last year, the association gathered 436.963 euros, an historic record.

The objective of this year is of course to beat this record. There will be one track in Monaco, and another one in Nice. With several tracks available in the French Riviera, the association hopes to create more awareness and gather more money in the region.
