More than a sport, golf is a way of life and, the French Riviera which is bathed in sunshine more than 300 days a year is a true golf paradise with its colourful landscapes that emanate the irresistible Mediterranean scents. 


From Grasse to Monaco, in the Var hinterland and all along the coast from Cannes to Saint-Tropez, there are no less than a good thirty golf courses which are the delight of novices or experienced amateurs of the green and swing.


Each golf course has its own particularity, whether historical, geographic or architectural. Some offer a wide range of ancillary services varying from spa to luxury hotels.

Alpes-Maritimes


Old Course Golf at Cannes Mandelieu, partner of Engel & Völkers Côte d´Azur


A legendary site close-by the sea. This is a mythical golf course and one of the oldest on the French Riviera founded by Grand Duke Michel of Russia in 1891 and frequented by all the crowned heads of Europe. 

The Club House is sublime. This Golf offers two beautifully maintained courses—an 18 hole and a 9 hole with Mediterranean trees. To complete this the domain also has a golf academy. 

Many competitions take place there throughout the year, as well as magnificent events such as, La “Vie en Rose”, which has become an essential soirée on the French Riviera. Golf Opio Valbonne


Between Cannes, Nice and Grasse the Golf of Opio Valbonne stands as one of the jewels of the Riviera. Its 18-hole course designed by the English architect Donald Harradine is located in the heart of a splendid protected area of 220 hectares in the shade of century-old trees. Only a few minutes from the seaside, the site benefits from an exceptional climatic and geographical situation sheltered from the wind and mostly very sunny.

The Château de la Bégude, a four-star restaurant sits in a fully renovated country house from the 17th century which overlooks the golf course. The chef offers Mediterranean cuisine full of colours and flavours as per the seasons.


Royal Mougins


Founded in 1993, the Royal Mougins Golf Club is the benchmark on the Côte d'Azur, the Alpes-Maritimes and in Europe mainly due to the quality of the 18-hole course and its technical capacity, but also for its preserved natural environment and all of its high-end services, including a spa and a hotel residence. To play on the course, you must have a maximum handicap of 32 for women and 28 for men.

The Monte-Carlo Golf Club


The Monte-Carlo Golf Club is over a hundred years old and offers a mountain course a few minutes from Monaco. Founded in 1911 and then remodelled by the committee in 1983, its fairly technical 18-hole course overlooks the Principality of Monaco at an altitude of 900 meters and offers an extraordinary panorama of the Southern Alps, the Mediterranean and, with clear skies even of Corsica. This unique place will delight lovers of the fresh air, sea and mountain.


The Golf Course of Chateau de Taulane

 

This is a privileged location between Gorges du Verdon, Lac de Sainte-Croix and Côte d'Azur. The Golf Course of Chateau de Taulane is located at 1000 meters above sea level at the foot of the mountains and in the heart of nature in Provence, 40 minutes from Grasse and 1 hour from Nice and Cannes. The famous Gary Player has bound his signature to it and made it one of the most beautiful courses on the Coast, accessible to all handicaps, earning him a place in the top 20 of the best courses in France. At the heart of nature spreading on 120 hectares and having almost 6,300 meters of courses punctuated by seven lakes, there emerges an absolute calm. The Golf Course of Terre Blanche 


In the heart of Pays de Fayence, Terre Blanche Golf is one of the most prestigious in the world for golf enthusiasts. The architect Dave Thomas has preserved the existing reliefs and vegetation of this magnificent site. His signature is expressed through the jagged bunkers of the two 18-hole courses "Le Château" and "Le Riou". This true paradise for golfers combines performance and pleasure of the game in an exceptional environment.

Voted "France's Best Golf Hotel" at the World Golf Awards 2019 and "France's Leading Resort" at the World Travel Awards, the estate has a 5-star hotel and a sublime spa. Its five restaurants will meet all your desires: from the Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant “Le Faventia” to a more informal one but always refined and tasty gourmet break at “Gaudina”, “Caroubiers”, “Tousco Grill” or “Patio”.

Beauvallon Golf


Located in Grimaud, 3 km from Sainte-Maxime and 10 km from Saint-Tropez, the Golf Club de Beauvallon covers 40 hectares. Between 1926 and 1927, the French architects Pierre Chareau and Dutch Bernard Bijvoet were called there to build a clubhouse of 300 m2, listed as a historic monument in 1993. The label “Heritage of the 20th century” was granted in 2012.

The Golf de Beauvallon offers a varied, natural and remarkably well-maintained 18-hole course. It promises you high technical and fun games.

Between the sea and the hills, the fairways wind through a wooded, slightly hilly area, leading to greens of reasonable sizes and slopes enjoying magnificent panoramic views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.


Golf Club Saint-Tropez


The Golf Club Saint-Tropez, the latest golf course along the Var coast, offers its privileged members a high level of services. A 110 hectare enclosed domain, in a classified and preserved natural site, in which a golf course has been designed and integrated by the famous Gary Player, 2nd most titled player in the history of golf qualified by his peers as a "magician". This highly varied golf course, both technical and strategic as technical offers breathtaking views of the four villages on the peninsula: Grimaud, Gassin, Ramatuelle and Saint-Tropez. The differences in level can reach more than 30 meters and the greens are huge and undulating.

The restaurant "Le G", overlooking the green, offers a magnificent setting for business meals, whether with friends or family.


Valescure Golf


Founded in 1895 by British aristocrats, the Golf de Valescure is surrounded by pines and stands as one of the oldest course in the Var and the 5th in all of France.

The club's vice-president was the Grand Duke Michel of Russia, in the presence of whom the inauguration of the 9 holes of the course at the time took place. The Grand Duke, as well as his wife were both passionate about golf and he had founded, a few years earlier in 1891 the Golf Old Course at Mandelieu La Napoule.

Its design by the famous architect Harry Shapland Colt has the particularity of offering several relatively short holes imposing permanent strategic thinking and wisdom in the choice of clubs. This 18-hole course will delight lovers of precision with short and effective shots. Sometimes it will be necessary to know how to sacrifice length for precision.


Golf of Saint-Maxime


Open since 1991, this course which offered at the start 9 holes and then expanded to 18 holes, was designed by the architects Peter and Don Harradine. Backing onto the Massif des Maures and planted with magnificent umbrella pines, it enjoys breathtaking views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The setting is friendly and warm. The course is partly technical, in particular the last 9 holes which follow the sides of a fairly steep hill, with some spectacular holes including two Par3, 6 and 17. The club has a large and real practice as well as one of a huge putting green for those who want to improve their skills.
