Pyrgadikia is a seaside settlement, amphitheatrically built on a hill overlooking Mount Athos and Sithonia in Halkidiki. 35 km from Polygyros with 300 permanent residents. The enchanting crystal clear beaches that exist in the area are a pole of attraction for Greek and foreign tourists. It is surrounded by the beaches of Saloniki, Kampos and Gyalikies. A fishing shelter has recently been created in the port of Pyrgadikia. The village was created after 1922 by Greek refugees who came from the region of Marmara, mainly from the village of Afthoni. It is built on the site of an ancient city, named Piloros.
