Dubai - Architecture of superlatives

The XXL architecture of Dubai seems almost superhuman; it is fascinating, beautiful and gigantic. People are always amazed by the immeasurable imagination and creativity of the planners and the technical possibilities with which people today can create and build almost unimaginable things.

Dubai is regarded as the gateway between West and East, is the quintessence of luxury and wealth and attracts people from all over the world to immerse themselves in this very own and wonderfully created world, which has only existed for about 40 years in the middle of a former desert land.

For architecture, these are atypical forms, almost bordering on static impossibility, but reminiscent of morphological forms, which in turn attempt to imitate the perfection of nature in the form of these constructions. The architects and developers in Dubai have succeeded in this almost superhuman undertaking: they have "created" their own world in the truest sense of the word.

Below we present you some of the most important buildings of Dubai.

Burj Khalifa

In the heart of Dubai the Burj Khalifa rises into the sky, this impressive 828 meter high building is hard to miss. It is not only the highest building in the world, but also visually different from other skyscrapers. The innovative Y-shaped ground plan and the curved lines and spirals of the facade make the building to a real highlight of Dubai. Its true greatness can best be admired from close-up or, even better, from the inside. On a clear day, the view from the panoramic platform is absolutely amazing and can only be surpassed by the view from the luxurious Top Sky Lounge.

Burj al Arab

The luxury hotel Burj al Arab, is a world-famous symbol of modern Dubai.
The iconic, sail-shaped silhouette makes the luxury hotel a real eye-catcher, which is definitely worth seeing. It can be defined as the world record hotel because it is the highest (321 m), the most luxurious and of course one of the most expensive.
The design is by Tom Wright, a British architect. The magnificent building stands on an artificial island 300 meters from the coast.

Infinity tower

Dubai has a lot to offer for architecture lovers, such as the spiral-shaped, 76-storey skyscraper Infinity Tower. When you look at this building, you can already see that the construction is unusual, as the upper part of the skyscraper is turned by 90° in relation to the substructure. The specialists of the construction company Skidmore Owings & Merrill worked on this extraordinary construction project.

Palm Islands

Everything is possible in Dubai, even islands are created artificially. The island "Palm Jumerah" is an island, which was created in the emerald colored water of the Persian Gulf. This wonderful enchanting island has been created in the shape of a palm tree, now you can find glamorous hotels, noble residential skyscrapers and exclusive international restaurants.
