A few days ago, at the age of 91, architect Savin Couelle passed away. Like his father Jacques before him, he leaves us the gift of timeless architecture, predestined to immortality. Of this important legacy, we are a proud ambassador.
In Savin Couelle’s intention, architecture and art merge, creating immortal living masterpieces that is a privilege to call “home”.
His imaginative contribute has always been inspired by nature and in perfect harmony with it; a precious inheritance, not just for Porto Cervo, the place where he has worked for most of his life, but for whole Sardinia.
Couelle’s unmistakable signature style not only has defined the artistic and architectural field but also has been able to create a dialogue with nature.
Since the very beginning, when Costa Smeralda was barely built, Couelle’s villas perfectly merged into the wilderness of the coast at that time, among juniper trees bent by the mistral wind, emerald green hills covered by the Mediterranean shrub and topaz waters.
This style has defined the Costa Smeralda aesthetic, and it will continue in the coming years. We are proud to be an ambassador of this invaluable legacy, offering to our clients not just uniquely designed homes, but also the lifestyle they inspire.
The territory has always been the greatest inspiration for Savin Couelle. His architecture is guided by nature; the soft line designing the interiors recalls the shape of the granite rocks moulded by the wind, juniper wood exposed beams, and many other valuable local materials are the delicate details that embellish the most prestigious villas and hotels of Costa Smeralda.
Straight out of a fairy tale, Couelle’s architecture is an oniric journey made out of Mediterranean suggestions which reminds us how lucky we are to live the work of a passionate architect whose love for Costa Smeralda has amplify and highlight the beauty and traditions of this captivating land.
