A part of the Valdichiana for breakfast? Yes, of course…

Hazelnuts have always been the distinctive ingredient of some Ferrero products. Did you know that the Tuscan hazelnuts from Valdichiana provide the unique taste that sweetens our breakfast or snack?

The Ferrero group and the Coagria cooperative, which is based in the Valdichiana, thanks to the mediation of Confagricoltura Toscana, have signed a long-term contract to develop a new supply chain for hazelnuts throughout the region.

A very high quality of the Tuscan hazelnuts is guaranteed. The harvest usually takes place between the beginning of August and the end of September. Once harvested, the hazelnuts are dried, cleaned and sent to factories mainly in Ferrero, where, following a rigorous protocol, they are subjected to sorting, shelling, peeling, calibration and selection. Only once these phases are complete, the hazelnuts are shipped to the Ferrero factories in lots carefully divided by size, variety and origin.
