Meet our fantastic agent team, Lorelle Curitz and Paulina Sarnecka, who, in the last 18 months, have sold over R250 million worth of property on the Atlantic Seaboard.
Lorelle
I was born and raised in Johannesburg, and started my working life in the hospitality industry, specifically in hotels. I also worked for the Italian national airline, Alitalia, for around 15 years, in the area of sales and operations. I moved to Cape Town when I was 37, and subsequently met and married my husband. I have one daughter, who is now 21. I have always had a keen interest in property, having built or renovated homes myself. It was after meeting with Paul Turner, the License Partner, that the opportunity to actually work in the industry presented itself - and I have now been with Engel & Volkers for 13 years! I draw immense energy from working with E&V, which allows me to meet and interact with so many diverse individuals. The everyday challenges are what actually get me out of bed in the morning. Not every day is a great day, but I always manage to find the positives within those challenging situations or people. I think my forte, and what I love most, is matching my clients to the right property for them.

Paulina
I was born in Poland, but at the age of 14 I moved to Italy, and that is where I completed my higher education, studying law at the University of Pisa. After finishing my studies, I came to South Africa the first time, to visit. I started off in Johannesburg and was lucky enough to get a job opportunity working for a law firm with lots of Italian clients - so my Italian came in very handy! I started travelling to Cape Town and, of course, like everyone else, completely fell in love with it. Following a year back in Europe, I finally decided to move here permanently. In fact, I started my working life in Cape Town in the tour operation business, and I was lucky enough to travel to some incredible places all over the country - into the bush, to beautiful hotels, luxury guesthouses. I gradually took on some property management work, for Italian owners, and actually became acquainted with Engel & Volkers as a client. I was introduced to Paul, the License Partner, who offered me the chance to run the short-term holiday rentals arm of the business. From there, I moved into regular rentals, and finally into sales. What do I like most about what I do? I think it’s the combination of meeting interesting people and seeing so many beautiful, often unique properties… But what really gives me a sense of satisfaction and pride is knowing that I have helped my buyers find their dream home.
