Grietjie Private Game Reserve is one of the founding members of the Balule Nature Reserve, which includes Balule East, Balule West, Olifants River Game Reserve,Olifants North Game Reserve and Parsons Game reserve and as such is open to the Klaserie, Timbavati, Umbabat and Kruger National Park.
The Balule area encompasses 50 000 hectares and is situated along 6 kilometers of the Olifants River. All game species that would be found in Kruger Park occur in this area,as well as an abundance of birdlife.
Grietjie is made up of 126 stands, mostly 21 hectares in extent. 18 of these stands,along the river are 12.5 hectares, with one land owner who owns a very large tract of land, the total land coverage of Grietjie is 2 800 hectares.
