Situated in the Greater Kruger Park region, this scenic and pristine slice of exclusive African wilderness provides sanctuary to property owners that seek an authentic and secluded lifestyle experience in nature. All of the stands are situated along the 6 kilometres of river frontage with lush riparian forest that provides for a rich array of fauna and flora. The reserve is bordered by both the Blyde and Olifants Rivers, and boasts a diverse landscape with rocky outcrops and savanna where plains game roam freely. The Blyde River has sparkling clear waters while the Olifants River is the quintessence of the powerful brown African River, with the Drakensberg Escarpment providing a magnificent backdrop.

Although owners can traverse the reserve in designated game drive vehicles, it is the ability to walk freely on the reserve that makes ownership so appealing to many.

Wildlife on Wild Rivers

Although elusive leopard wander in the shade of ancient trees, and the river banks are frequented by hippo and crocodiles, there are no other “big five” animals on the reserve. Plains game such as kudu, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and smaller cat species such as caracal, civet and African wild cat roam freely.

The reserve is a bird lover’s paradise and home to the rare Pels Fishing Owl. It is also a protective breeding site for Herons such as Goliath and Grey Heron. Trumpeter Hornbill, Hooded Vulture and Fish Eagle are some of the larger bird species nesting in the Wild Fig, Jackalberry and Matumi trees along the river banks.
