The particularity of the municipality of Mijas is that it is divided into two: Mijas Pueblo and Mijas Costa. Halfway between Malaga and Marbella (30 kilometers), this municipality of the Costa del Sol Occidental is the third in the province of Malaga in number of inhabitants. Mijas Pueblo is located on the hillside of the Sierra de Mijas, and has the historic center of the municipality -considered as one of the most beautiful in Andalusia-.
