Villalmanzo : ubicació i entorn d'aquesta propietat

Located very close to Lerma, today Lerma is one of the most visited villas in the province of Burgos, preserving as much as possible, the treasure bequeathed by our ancestors and historical reference, with a promising future in terms of tourism, with the Parador National, companies of sausages, biscuits, or textiles (Amaya Arzuaga), the Wines of the "Ribera del Arlanza". The landscape environment of the farm is Mediterranean forest, riparian forest, rainfed crops and irrigated land For centuries known as the Tordable farm specifically in the municipality of Villalmanzo. It was rebuilt around 1920 by an English subject married to a Spaniard. Years later it was sold. The wealth of the farm consisted of vineyard, fruit and cereal. The fruit and part of the grape, was sold, the rest of the grape was made in the wine press located in Villalmanzo, next to the winery called the Alta. During this reconstruction of 1920 appeared the image of the Virgin, which today is in the village Church. Thus, Tordable was born as a strategic-defensive point, we know from the documents collected in the Historical Archive of the Cathedral of Burgos that it was a tower, in no case is it mentioned as a castle or other superior construction. The own Cabildo denominates "Tordable Farm" and always it tried to maintain it in rent or census, although there was some attempt of sale towards Century XVI. During these centuries, we know that the state of their constructions was deteriorating, despite the efforts of the Cabildo for the successive census takers to make arrangements in them.
