Descripció

In the heart of the ancient village of Bergamasco, a short distance from Nizza Monferrato, nestled within medieval walls that still tell centuries of history, stands the prestigious Castello dei Marchesi Moscheni, a unique noble palace built in 1600 at the behest of the illustrious noble family, who lived there for generations. This fascinating complex spans six levels, dominating the valley with a spectacular southern exposure that offers a breathtaking panoramic view. The highlight of the property is the splendid hanging garden, suspended on the medieval wall, adorned with round arches that create a timeless atmosphere, perfect for moments of relaxation or exclusive receptions. The heart of the ground floor is the scenic portico with columns and frescoed ceilings, leading to elegant salons furnished with style, such as the dining room, the fireplace room, and the billiard room. Through an internal corridor, one can access the bright kitchen and the private church of the Marchesi, decorated with precious 17th-century decorations. The imposing frescoed staircase allows access to the upper floors. On the first mezzanine floor, there is a delightful suite with a panoramic terrace. The main floor houses the reception hall with the imposing fireplace, the library, the study, the music room, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. In the second mezzanine, there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The palace ends with the large attic space, from which one accesses an elegant panoramic terrace. The vastness of its rooms and its elevated position suggest the possible transformation into a residential area, creating a penthouse with various bedrooms, bathrooms, and service areas. Completing the property are the evocative original cellars with barrel vaults. The palace retains two original towers, authentic sentinels of the past, underscoring its historical and architectural value. Every room speaks of elegance, art, and memory, also thanks to the precious intervention of Maestro Carlo Leva, a famous set designer of Italian cinema, who lived there from 1960. With his artistic vision and talent, Leva was able to enhance the noble soul of the building, enriching it with scenic details and enhancing every perspective. Even today, the Palazzo retains a rich private collection (not included in the sale) of cinema memorabilia that he had collected during his career. One of these is the canopy bed of Claudia Cardinale used in the famous film "Once Upon a Time in the West." The Castello dei Marchesi Moscheni is not just a property: it is a journey into history, a livable work of art, a rare opportunity for those who wish to live or invest in a valuable cultural asset, perfectly integrated into the historical context of Monferrato.

    Ubicació: Bergamasco, Piemont

Bergamasco is an ancient village of 662 inhabitants in the province of Alessandria, nestled against the hills of Monferrato, a UNESCO area, famous for wine production. A stronghold owned by the Marquises of Incisa since before the year 1000, it became part of the Marquisate of Monferrato in 1514. The center of the village, dominating the valley, is the "Palazzo Marchionale," built between 1663 and 1685 by the Moscheni Marquises. It is currently privately owned (previously owned by set designer Carlo Leva) and houses a rich collection of cinema memorabilia (not included in the sale). Also noteworthy is the Church of San Pietro, the oldest place of worship in the village. The area is picturesque, nestled among the hills and surrounded by unspoiled nature, offering breathtaking landscapes with the incredible colors of the vineyards and woods. The local cuisine, celebrated by festivals and gastronomic fairs (such as the Regional White Truffle Festival on the second Sunday of October), is a blend of authentic flavors and culinary traditions passed down through time. The location is strategic: 1 hour from Turin, 1.5 hours from Milan, 1 hour from Genoa.
