Drawn on a plan, it has the shape of a boat with its bow facing southwest. Given that most of its boundaries are motorways, it is considered an "urban island", with very little pedestrian traffic from other neighboring districts. It is a reference neighborhood in the aviation sector due to its proximity to the Adolfo Suárez airport, with the majority of its residents being pilots and stewardesses. Among its monuments, we find the Alameda Castle, one of the few military fortresses that remain in the city. The area is surrounded by large green spaces, such as the Juan Carlos I park, or the emblematic Capricho park, places where you can enjoy with the family or other outdoor activities. A few minutes away is the Plenilunio shopping and leisure center, where you can find various entertainment options, shops and restaurants, as well as the Campo de las Naciones area, with a varied gastronomic offer. For the youngest children, the neighborhood has several public schools and a public school and nursery. In the immediate vicinity there is also the Lycée Français. In the area there are excellent municipal sports facilities, as well as private clubs, and quick access to the cycling greenway. Its easy access to the M40, M11, M-14 and A-2 allows access to the center of Madrid in less than 15 minutes. The public transport system has numerous bus and metro lines L5 ensuring fast and comfortable communication with both the center of Madrid and the airport, making the neighborhood an ideal place for those looking for a quiet and familiar place without giving up the city.
