The location is very good. Figueiroa de Arriba is a place belonging to the parish of A Estrada, located in the Pontevedra municipality of A Estrada, within the Tabeirós–Terra de Montes region. It is the second most populated settlement in the parish, near the municipal capital. It lies on the outskirts of the main urban center. For easy orientation, it stands out for hosting key municipal facilities: Municipal Swimming Pool: located in this area, a landmark for summer leisure. Access is integrated into the north/northeast area of the town, quickly connecting with the town center through the local street network. Its surroundings are in the Tabeirós–Terra de Montes region, surrounded by green areas and public facilities. Nearby is the Pazo de Oca: known as the “Galician Versailles,” noted for its 18th-century gardens, camellias, and ponds. It forms part of the Camellia Route. A 13th-century building declared a Site of Cultural Interest. However, it is its beautiful gardens that have made it famous, with forests of large chestnut trees, birches and oaks; its palms, rhododendrons and azaleas, and above all its many varieties of camellias. In fact, the pazo is part of the Galician Camellia Route. We highlight the Romanesque Route: the municipality has up to 19 churches from the 10th to the 13th centuries, one of the highest concentrations in the area. The distance between Santiago de Compostela and A Estrada is approximately 25 kilometers by road, which means a driving time of 25 minutes via the AC-841 or AP-53. By public transport, the bus takes 40 minutes. The nearest international airport is Santiago de Compostela Airport, 35 km away.
