Moià has a population of 6,500 inhabitants and is the capital of the Moianès region. It borders Monistrol de Calders, Castellcir, Castellterçol, Collsuspina, Muntanyola, l'Estany, Santa Maria d'Oló, Avinyó, and Calders.
