ÖlheizungL'Ametlla del Vallès is a municipality in the region of Vallès Oriental, located south of the Cíngles de Bertí (Prelitoral Mountain Range). Its location means that it has two types of landscape: the plain of the valley, eminently agricultural, and another more mountainous one. The main urban center is located in the middle of both orographies enjoying a gentle slope. Its past dates back to the year 903 where for the first time the name of the municipality appears associated with the daughter of Count Guifré, to whom it belonged. But it was not until 1843 that the first town council was formed. The population increase became especially noticeable between 1970 and 2004, when the inhabitants multiplied by 6, reaching more than 8,000 inhabitants today. We can find samples of the agricultural past of the region in the farmhouses of Ca l'Arenys, Can Carlons, Can Divino, Can Draper, Can Fàbregues del Bosque, Can Guineu, etc... We can also find architectural and religious heritage, such as the parish church of Sant Genís de l'Ametlla, built in 906. The modernist footprint, the result of the impulse at the beginning of the twentieth century, is reflected in several buildings, among which include the town hall building (1912), Cal Barber, the cafe of Dr. Balsa (1906) and Can Millet (farmhouse originating in the XIV-XVII century).
