Spectacular farmhouse in Elorrio

Elorrio is a town in Bizkaia known for its historic-artistic monumental ensemble, the first in the province, notable for its palaces, manor houses, and the rich medieval heritage preserved in its urban center. It is located in the Duranguesado region, bordering Gipuzkoa and Álava, under Mount Udalaitz, and combines its heritage with a natural setting of mountains and trails. It has a historic center: Declared a Historic-Artistic Monumental Ensemble in 1964, it is one of the most complete and best-preserved in Bizkaia. Palaces and manor houses: Pedestrian streets filled with buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries, many with coats of arms and baroque elements. Basilica of the Immaculate Conception: The largest in Bizkaia, featuring a late Gothic style and a bell tower replica of the Giralda in Seville. Walls and gates: It preserves the Don Tello gate, the only remaining one from its ancient wall. Necropolis of Argiñeta: An interesting site with tombs from the early Middle Ages. Natural surroundings and activities Location: It is situated in the southeast of the province, in the Ibaizabal valley and surrounded by mountains. Hiking: Offers routes like the Arrazola greenway or trails on Mount Besaide, with spectacular views. Culture: Besides its heritage, it is known for its gastronomy and for hosting the only armed people's display in Bizkaia, the Erre-Bombillos.
