The municipality has beautiful Romanesque churches, the Ethnological Museum of Das, the Cerdanya airfield, as well as being surrounded by the landscapes of the Cadi–Moixero natural park, the Segre River as well as the nearby ski resorts of La Molina and Masella. Tartera is located in the center of the triangle defined by Prats, Das and Urús, an urban nucleus rebuilt on the basis of the old town located at 1200m above sea level.
