Bounded by the streets of Almagro, Génova and Miguel Ángel, you will find one of the most stately neighbourhoods in Chamberí: Almagro, Almagro is an elegant neighbourhood that stands out for its stately mansions, embassies, art galleries, elegant hotels, luxury restaurants and beautiful shops. It is also known for housing the former home of painter Joaquín Sorolla, which has been transformed into a museum in his honour. Andén Cero is a disused metro station that has been restored to its 1923 appearance as a transport museum. In the time of Philip IV this area bordered the orchards of the convent of the Salesian nuns. Later, palaces and aristocratic residences were built here, most of which were demolished in the 20th century. However, there are still traces of this noble past.
