Eixample : Lage und Umgebung dieser Immobilie

Eixample symbolizes the elegance of Barcelona. Its network of octagonal blocks is considered a masterpiece of urban planning. In addition, it is said that its designer, Ildefons Cerdà, is the father of urbanism. Some of the most outstanding architectural works of Gaudí's Catalan modernism and its contemporaries are found in these tree-lined residential streets. However, until the end of the 19th century, this area was full of fields, factories and mills. Barcelona was a city overcrowded and drowned between walls. When these walls fell, the Eixample was born. The old industrial areas were demolished as the city grew. The few structures that survived were redesigned and reconverted. Sharing the patio with this outstanding residential project, is a restored original flour mill that has become a classic example of brick architecture of the time. Barcelona elites began to build their wonderful buildings in the right part of the Eixample district at the end of the 19th century. Today, the rehabilitation of this area is in full swing with new pedestrian areas, new shops and new life.
