Parque Coimbra is a settlement belonging to the municipal district of Móstoles (Community of Madrid), located 5 kilometers away via highway from the city of Móstoles itself. Nestled at the southwestern edge of the municipal district, on the banks of the Guadarrama River, in the valley of the same name. Administratively, it is part of, along with a nearby residential area known as Colonia Guadarrama, the Coimbra-Guadarrama District Municipal Board (No. 5) [1] of Móstoles. Its urban layout consists mostly of single-family homes and large green areas. It has a large number of public services and shopping centers, notably the Madrid Xanadú commercial and leisure complex. It has direct and immediate access to the A-5 highway, with a public transport network and other services such as a health center, parish, public schools, secondary/high school, and a nursing home. Parque Coimbra is one of the populations in the southwest of the Community of Madrid that has experienced significant demographic growth in recent years. This growth, however, has currently halted due to the inability to continue building, as the lands surrounding Parque Coimbra are protected parks. The lands on which the residential area is situated once belonged to the Duke of Tamames and his wife María Cristina Rigote. Originally, they were part of a vast rural estate (Monte de San Martín) dedicated to agricultural and livestock exploitation.
