Location: Badia Blava, Balearic Islands

The Bahía Azul/Bahía Grande residential area is located on the coast of the municipality of Llucmajor. It has everything needed for everyday living: small shops, a restaurant and bars, medical centers, etc. This coastline is characterized by vertigo-inducing cliffs and slopes leading down to the Mediterranean Sea. It has a small bathing area formed by s’Arc de Sant Martí. This rocky cove is a quiet place to swim without worries. It is popular for being a “private” beach, and its sunsets are impressive. Access to the bathing area is via a wooden staircase, passing through shaded and sunny sections. Over the centuries this path served as access to the coast for fishermen, pirates and, above all, smugglers. The cliffs were also used for extracting marés (sandstone in golden or pinkish tones), a constant feature of the southern Mallorcan landscape and used in the construction of Palma Cathedral. The capital is only about 20 minutes away by car, and the airport is approx. 15 minutes away.
