The Quinta of Luanco by Joaquín Torres

Nestled in one of the beautiful areas of the Asturian coast, Luanco is a pleasant coastal town with a very attractive maritime atmosphere. As the capital of the Gozón council, it is conveniently located a short distance from the main towns of Asturias, as well as its airport. The town preserves a beautiful historic center with all its characteristic personality. Luanco has two beaches in its urban area: one that bears its name and the Ribera beach. The first is one of the main attractions for tourists, and is sheltered by a breakwater. The Ribera beach, the second beach, opens to the sea near the pier. It offers unbeatable views, with boats and ships anchored in the distance and Carmen Island in the background. When the tide is high, people usually fish in its waters from the wall. The port of Luanco is the nerve center of this town. In the Middle Ages, it served as a shelter for a large fishing fleet. Today, the port is docked by shellfish boats that daily supply the menus of restaurants and the tapas of the cider houses, which are very abundant around the port itself. In addition to its rich gastronomy, Luanco offers a wide range of leisure activities, particularly in the summer season. Its lifestyle has always been oriented to the sea and its enjoyment.
