Located in a wonderful area of Vila de Cruces, this property strikes a balance between nature, space and potential, offering a place to breathe in tranquility and enjoy the authentic Galician landscape. Merza is a parish located in the southern part of the municipality of Vila de Cruces, in the province of Pontevedra. Set in a stunning landscape of valleys and mountains, the area is crossed by the three main rivers of the region: the Ulla, Deza and Arnego. It lies on the banks of the Toxa River, whose mouth forms one of Galicia’s most important waterfalls, the Fervenza da Toxa. On the banks of the Toxa River we also find the Monastery of Carboeiro, considered one of the finest examples of Galician Romanesque. This Benedictine monastery was founded in the 10th century and still preserves its church and some monastic quarters, thanks to extensive restoration work. Its parish church, Santa María de Merza, retains elements of its original Romanesque construction from the late 12th century. Connections to Santiago de Compostela are very good via the AP-53: 40 km, about 30 minutes by car. The distance to Lavacolla Airport is 60 km, about 40 minutes by car via the AP-53
