The Dalt Vila and Centro neighborhoods in Badalona make up the municipality’s most sought-after area, where historic 18th- and 19th-century houses meet the beach and sea via Rambla Santa Madrona. These are homes steeped in history, including colonial houses once owned by entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries, where lifelong Badalona families have lived for generations.
Their main streets are, in practice, exclusively pedestrian, with very little vehicle traffic. The only vehicles passing through belong to a few fortunate residents with parking spaces and to some commercial vehicles.
They have all kinds of services and shops just a few meters away, from small traditional businesses to the major shopping thoroughfare of the fully pedestrianized Calle del Mar, as well as a diverse gastronomic offering that expands during the summer months with the installation of several beach bars directly on the sand. The Town Hall is barely 200 meters away, Maignon Market 350 meters, Can Solei and Ca l’Arnús Park 500 meters, the Badalona Museum 150 meters, Badalona Municipal Hospital 1,000 meters, and the Dr. Robert Primary Care Center 250 meters away. It is also worth highlighting that just over 3 km away is one of Catalonia’s most prestigious referral hospitals, Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (Can Ruti). In addition, the nearby educational offering is extensive and varied, both public and private: Badalonés School, Maristas Champagnat, Artur Martorell, Lola Anglada, Minguella School, Natzareth, Cultural, and several nursery schools such as Els Petits and El Patufet.
The Dalt Vila and Centro neighborhoods can pride themselves on being exceptionally well connected. Their location is excellent, with Badalona railway station just 600 meters away, Pompeu Fabra metro station 200 meters away, and the C-31 highway 100 meters away, providing quick connections to Barcelona and Girona. In addition, numerous bus lines operate nearby, making it possible to reach any point in the municipality quickly, as well as any town in the Maresme region and, of course, Barcelona.
