The Campo de Gibraltar is one of the six regions of the province of Cádiz, located in the southernmost part of the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is a tourist destination offering a wide variety of tourist activities that are very different and complementary to the Andalusian and Spanish offerings. Campo de Gibraltar borders and is adjacent to the British colony of Gibraltar; it is the Spanish territory closest to the African continent, separated from it by only 14 kilometers. It is the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Sixty percent of its territory consists of protected natural areas of high ecological value, and it has a special climate characterized by a high number of sunlight hours per year and strong winds, which favor the practice of water sports along its extensive and varied coastline.
