Description

Engel&Völkers is selling this historic house in the Calderería where Eugenio Granell lived. The house has an imposing façade and 257m2 divided into three floors. When we enter the entrance we find a small commercial ground floor (about 10m2) which was formerly a baby clothes shop with a shop window to the facade, and an area that was used as a warehouse (41m2) which today can be used as a storage room or other use. A central staircase leads to the three floors. On the first floor, there are two spacious rooms, one of them facing the main façade with two balconies, and the other one facing the back with windows and good views. The first floor is the day area, with a kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a beautiful living room facing the façade with two balconies overlooking the Calderería. The third floor is the rest area, with two bright rooms, the one facing the main façade has a gallery and the other room has incredible views of the Cathedral of Santiago. The house has a beautiful skylight in the roof that fills the stairs with light. The heating is oil fired.

Location: Santiago de Compostela, Galicia

The location of the house of the Calderería is wonderful, it is like a dream to live in the heart of the historical area of Santiago, just 5 minutes walking from the Cathedral, in the middle of the Plaza de Cervantes and the Plaza del Toral. And to give you a little bit of our history, all the streets in the old part of the city were named after the professionals who used to live there, in this case the boilermakers, hence the name. Nowadays it is full of small shops where the locals mix with pilgrims and visitors. It is a quiet, safe and busy area for walkers as it has no road traffic.
