The location is really good, Biduido is a parish municipality of Ames with which it shares cultural heritage, in the province of La Coruña, Galicia. It belongs to the Santiago region. It is located at a distance of about 10 kilometers from Santiago de Compostela. Today, the last stage of the Portuguese Way from Padrón to Santiago runs through its lands. After passing through the Pazo do Faramello, Rúa de Francos and As Galanas, in the municipality of Teo, it crosses the parish of Santa María de Biduído. It then runs through an area of mountains, until it passes the peak of A Grela and descends towards O Milladoiro. In this place the pilgrims, who approached by the sea route and the Portuguese Way, saw here, for the first time, the towers of the Compostela basilica, and on their knees they gave thanks to God and the Patron Saint for the fortunes of their journey. The climate of the City of Ames is highly influenced by its location in a valley, with mild winters and hot summers. The rains are mainly concentrated in the months of October to May. The nearest airport is Lavacolla, about 20km away.
