Torrevieja is a coastal town and municipality to the south of the province of Alicante, within the region of the Vega Baja. It is located in a place of high ecological and scenic value on the shores of the Mediterranean and next to the Lagunas de La Mata and Torrevieja, one of the most important wetlands of the Valencian Community and one of the most important salt mines in Europe.
