Puerto Alcúdia belongs to the municipality of Alcúdia and is a 45-minute drive from the island’s capital, Palma de Mallorca. This northern town, with almost 5,000 inhabitants, has the Alcudiamar marina and a commercial port with ferry connections to Barcelona, Valencia, Menorca and France (Toulon). Puerto Alcúdia is best known for its 7 km of white-sand beach, Playa de Alcúdia (Catalan: Platja d’Alcúdia). It offers an accessible promenade and entrances for people with disabilities and connects with Playa de Muro. This popular destination for both local and foreign families offers a wide range of properties for sale with tourist rental licences. Puerto de Alcúdia also has a water park, the only one in the north of the island: Hidropark. A growing area beside Puerto Alcúdia, overlooking the Bay of Alcúdia, is undoubtedly Alcanada (Catalan: Aucanada). Here, we find beautiful detached houses, villas of all types and apartments, most with stunning sea views. Building plots are still available. The famous Alcanada Golf Club is also located here, regularly hosting major tournaments. Alcúdia town, with its attractive historic centre, is only a 10–15-minute walk from the port. Weekly markets take place on Tuesdays and Sundays. A private hospital, Juaneda Muro, is located near Puerto Alcúdia, while the international school My School is situated a little farther towards Pollença.
