Surrounded by imposing cypress trees, the hermitage of San Cristóbal watches over the town of La Cerollera in the province of Teruel from a high hill near the village. It was built at the end of the 16th century and consists of a single nave covered by a barrel vault. Within the urban area, visitors cannot miss two magnificent buildings: the palace-house of the Marquess of Santa Coloma and the Pallarés house. The former is a 16th-century stone building with a typical Aragonese gallery and an impressive wooden eave. The latter, from the 17th and 18th centuries, features a large wooden balcony, the longest in Bajo Aragón. La Cerollera also boasts the Church of Our Lady of Remedy. Commissioned in 1734 to the architect Antonio Moreno, it recreates the same concept as the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza.
