Puerto Alcúdia, with approximately 5,000 inhabitants, is located on the north coast of Mallorca and is only a 45-minute drive from the capital, Palma de Mallorca. The town belongs to the municipality of Alcúdia. Ferry services operate from here to Barcelona, Valencia, Toulon and Menorca. There is also a marina with numerous shops and terrace restaurants, adjoining the 7-kilometre-long white sandy beach with its hotels. Puerto Alcúdia has been a popular holiday destination for many years, especially among families with children. In addition to a wide range of water sports, the town also has a water park and a wake park. A small weekly market is held every Friday. The award-winning “Alcanada Golf Club”, one of Europe’s finest golf courses, is located in the exclusive suburb of Alcanada, where important tournaments are regularly held. Most of the attractive villas and apartments offer a fantastic view over the entire Bay of Alcúdia. From both Puerto Alcúdia and Alcanada, the historic old town of Alcúdia can be reached on foot in approximately 20 minutes; its weekly market takes place every Sunday and Tuesday. An interesting destination for nature lovers is the “S’Albufera Park” nature reserve, the largest wetland in the Balearic Islands. The municipality of Alcúdia is also home to, among other facilities, the private “Juaneda Muro” hospital. The international school “My School” is located in Crestatx near Pollença, approximately a 20-minute drive away.
