Argüero is a small village in the Asturian municipality of Villaviciosa, stretching between the sea and the mountains. The Merón River runs through the area and flows into the beach of the same name.
The property is 60 km from Asturias Airport, approximately 20 km from Gijón and 50 km from Oviedo.
The setting is ideal for enjoying nature, with various trails for lovers of long walks, as well as several beaches just a few kilometres away, including Merón, Playa de España and Rodiles. The latter is considered one of the best beaches for surfing, with a surf school open all year round.
The area has jet deposits; jet is a fossilised material from trees that lived during the Jurassic period. It is also of great historical and artistic importance, with pre-Romanesque monuments such as San Salvador de Valdediós and Romanesque architecture in Amandi.
The area is also of considerable tourist interest, with nearby places such as the capital, Villaviciosa, whose impressive estuary was declared a Partial Nature Reserve in 1995 because of its great ecological value. There are also picturesque villages such as Tazones, Lastres and El Puntal, with its small marina, among others.
This description would not be complete without highlighting the local cuisine, where visitors can enjoy excellent meat, fish and seafood, all accompanied by natural cider, a drink made from apples with a modest alcohol content.
