Manzanares el Real is a municipality and town in the Spanish Community of Madrid. The municipal area has a population of 9,550 inhabitants (INE 2024). It is located on the shore of the Santillana reservoir, formed by the waters of the Manzanares River, which crosses the municipality. Among its heritage, the Castillo de los Mendoza, built in the 15th century, stands out, as well as the natural enclave of La Pedriza, integrated into the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park and the Manzanares Upper Basin Biosphere Reserve.
The municipality has three bus lines, one of which has its terminus at the Plaza de Castilla interchange. All three lines are operated by the company Interbus.
